Detailed Information for : Metallic Mineral Prospecting Permit
Description:
Permit required to conduct metallic mineral prospecting (bulk sampling).  
License Type:

Duration:
Life of project as defined in approved Prospecting Plan.  
Fees:
$1,000 for initial application submittal. Adjusted to cover the actual cost of DNR evaluation.  
Prerequisites:
Approval of Prospecting Plan and Reclamation Plan, compliance with minimum design and locational criteria and submittal of proper fee, adequate performance bond and certificate of insurance. Contested case hearing required.  
Additional Information:
Prospecting operations are to be conducted in an environmentally acceptable manner in compliance with all applicable statutes and rules. The lands disturbed by the operation must either be converted to a mining operation or fully reclaimed. Operation must be completed in conformance with the approved Prospecting Plan and Reclamation Plan. Also see DNR website Waste Management Program: Mining.
