Detailed Information for : Respiratory Care Practitioner
License required for a person to perform respiratory care to include the branch or system of treating the sick which is limited to assisting in the prevention, diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of respiratory disorders by various means, including the administration of medical gases, oxygen therapy, ventilation therapy, artificial airway care, bronchial hygiene therapy, aeorsolization of pharmacological agents, respiratory rehabilitation therapy and other treatment, testing, evalution and rehabilitation procedures performed under the direction of a physician, but not including the use of general anesthetic agents.  
License Type:
Two years. Renewal due date is October 31 of each odd-numbered year.  
Valid Wisconsin credential or license (see initial application information).  
Application Form(s):
Renewal notice is mailed 6 weeks before the renewal due date. For example, you receive a renewal notice on September 15 (of odd-numbered years) to be renewed by deadline date of October 31 (of odd-numbered years). Special renewal requirements are listed on the back of the renewal form.
